Saying Hello To The Baker Boy Hat And Goodbye To My Insecurities.

Saying Hello To The Baker Boy Hat And Goodbye To My Insecurities.

I rarely step outside of my comfort zone, but it is something I’m trying to work on. I get easily self-conscious and even the smallest quirky outfit detail can make me want to cringe when I see someone look at me on the street I will automatically think because of the way I have my makeup or the teddy style boots I’m wearing ( I’m adapting  to my teddy boots I got them for £1 in Primark it might be my greatest buy of all time I am WEARING THEM!)

So when I saw such amazing photos of people rocking the newest baker boy hat tread I so desperately wanted to jump on board, I mean they look so chic and stylish and I wanted a piece of that action!

So a few weeks back I had just finished a fantastic bloggers brunch and I was wondering around Oxford street with my newest blogger companion Kate and we just popped into Topshop for a quick browse before she had to catch her train and there it was staring me in the face, a whole big ass table just full of baker boy hats.. They had every colour and almost every sort of material, So, of course, I was automatically drawn and spent a good 20 minutes trying them on with Kate and I wanted one so badly my heart was set on just the plain old simple black baker boy hat, but of course I looked in the mirror and even though I loved it it was that voice inside of my head telling me I looked ridiculous, that everyone would think I looked like a wannabe. So I put the hat back and continued to browse the flagship Topshop store, and just as we was going to pay I just had this urge to go back and get it even if I was only going to wear it around the house..
So off I trotted back to the baker boy hats and picked up the one I had my heart set on originally, even my friend Kate wanted to get one but she also felt like she would look ridiculous, even though she looked incredible! and the next day she actually did mention how gutted she was that she never picked one up herself! ( TOLD YOU GIRL! )
After leaving Topshop and saying goodbye to Kate all the way home I couldn’t wait to get home and try on my new hat and also try and style it with some outfits and honestly it really wasn’t all that difficult it actually goes with most outfits which I was hugely surprised about.

That was over 3 weeks ago and I have worn it every chance I’ve got. The first Sunday after buying it I went to wear it out the house and chickened out, and how ridiculous! it’s a hat, Katharine.. it’s just a hat, and then the next day I went out with my cousin to watch the greatest showman, which by the way is one of the most amazing films I’ve ever seen and yes I have seen it twice, and i was litrally carrying it around in my bag still scared to put it on my head, untill I tried it on for her and expected her to burst into laughter or tell me it looked nice with the sort of voice that tells you they are just saying it to make you feel better, but stright away she was telling me I was stupid for not wearing it and how good it looked. The amazing thing about my cousin is that I know when she’s telling the truth and I do believe her and she’s always had that really good thing about her where she just makes you feel more confident about yourself and always reminds you of your worth and she just always seems to uplift me, so I put the hat on and rocked it! we even stopped off halfway home and took some outfit pictures and I no longer felt like I was being looked at I was so comfortable in it, and actually felt like one of the chic stylish women I see on my Instagram feed and I was absolutely loving it!
Even when I was flicking through the pictures we took in the afternoon I was thinking is that me? and please believe me I know it sounds ridiculous but I’m just never that girl that rocks the trends because I’m always scared i would look stupid because I just guess I don’t think I can pull it off I just don’t think I am that sort of girl, but as it turns out this is one trend I’m rocking at the moment and I am absolutely loving it! Every weekend since I haven’t been caught without it I’m gonna be wearing this bad boy until there’s nothing left of it!

So thank you Kate, for supporting me in my hat picking scenario and babe please get one you looked incredible!
The baker boy hat is such a chic look and it really adds that extra bit of detail to spice up any outfit, jumper = baker boy hat, skirt and a tee-shirt = you guessed it a baker boy hat!

you’ll catch me in this hat until the end of spring, now please excuse me while I go and order myself a couple more because I’m “chic” like that.

What trends are you loving at the moment? have you found something that you thought that you could never pull off but you actually ended up rocking it? let me know in the comments I would love to know!
Until next time! stay confident!

How I Keep My Hair In Good Condition

How I Keep My Hair In Good Condition

Lately I’ve been reciving so many comments and questions about my hair, lots of you keep commenting on how nice it is and while I’m obviously so grateful I wouldn’t want to sit here and accept all these lovely comments without letting you all know the absolute truth.

ITS NOT MINE.

A lot of you that have been following me or reading my blog for a while will probably know this just purely for the fact that last year April time it was short and now its about 18inches long and although I wish my hair grew that quick its not the case. So Last year around November time I decided to have my extensions put back in purely because coming up to the festive season I wanted to feel glamorous and not have to feel self conscious about my hair, after I messed my hair up a few years back through over bleaching and heat damage I decided to take a break from everything! extensions, colour, heat the lot but I’ve always been self conscious when it comes to my hair I just don’t feel me when its short and I like it for a while but long hair always makes me feel more confident, so at the end of November I decided to get my long hair back and it was as if I became that little bit more confident and had that spring in my step again.

But I’m not going to lie the up keep of having long hair can be difficult, especially when its not your own trying to look after hair that isn’t yours can be time consuming! but because I have had such a rubbish experience in the past with my hair I do everything I can now to make sure that it never happens again. So no matter if you have extensions or you’re all naturel I wanted to write this post to  pass on a few tips that you can add to your haircare routine to keep it looking silky and shiny all year round.

HEAT PROTECTOR!

I don’t think I will ever be able to stress enough of how important heat protector is and I know so many people that just don’t use it, and I get it I’ve been there and it doesn’t really cross your mind and still till this day I might get half way through curling my hair to then realise crap! I forgot to put it on but I try my hardest never to forget, and I know that it can seem like how the hell is a few sprays of that going to help? but believe me when I say it does! I’ve noticed such a big difference in my hair since I started using it, its never as dry anymore and it doesn’t look frazzled like it did last year I will leave the link to the one that I use Here its only £7.99 but it has lasted me ages! and it smells Devine! Remember guys a few sprays a day keeps the dryness away..

 Masks And Serums

I’ve always been a big believer in hair serums, ever since I started working in salons from the age of 16 I’ve always had a serum on my shelf and I’ve tried a lot of serums from the expensive to the drug store bought ones, and I’ve come across some good ones over the years but about 5 months ago I decided to give the OGX renewing Moroccan argan oil a go, I was on a budget and needed something.. and I was so shocked of how good it was, it smells incredible and the bottle that I bought 5 months ago is just about running out so for £6.99 thats really good going for the price.

So after shampooing my hair I squeeze all the excess water out and give my hair a quick towel dry, and then I apply a good dollop of the John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Deep Mask and I make sure it is all spread evenly on my mid lengths and ends and then give it a good brush through with my Tangle Tamer I swear by these brushes I used to use the tangle teasers for years and then I found out about the tangle tamers from work and they are exactly the same brand but instead of looking more like a beetle it looks like a proper brush and I feel like its a lot easier to use on wet hair, the tangle teasers used to always slip out my hands when wet. Once the mask is all brushed through I leave it on my hair for a good 10-15 minutes, this just gives it enough time to really soak in I normally read through some things on my phone or just sit back and relax until its ready to wash off, and one of the good things about brushing your mask/conditioner in is that you’re really penetrating the hair, when you just throw it on only using your hands your only really getting to the top of the hair but none of the hair inbetween is getting a look in of all that nourishing goodness, so this is why I always enter the shower/bath brush in hand!.

After the 10-15 minutes I give my hair a good rinse to make sure all the mask is gone ( other wise you might find your hair is going to get oily a lot quicker then you would like) Once out the shower now comes to the drying, this can be time consuming when you have extensions because its like 2x more hair you have to dry, so before drying I give my hair a good towel dry and before brushing I apply some of the OGX argan oil and I also add a little bit of No more messy break ups split end cream by Umberto Giannini, I got this in a birch box a few months back and it is actually really good! if your anything like me and have quite dry hair or are trying to tame them split ends then I would highly recommend this cream.

So I take about a 20p size dollop of both in the palm of my hand and rub them together, then I just evenly apply them to my hair making sure to avoid the root and make sure my ends are getting more of the attention! then its time for a good brush through I never start drying my hair before I’ve brushed it through and this just saves so much time and hassle because if I don’t and I start drying before brushing the knots come out in full force. And once my hair is dry and I just smooth it over a little bit with a round brush, then I will just run a tiny bit of the argan oil through my mid lengths and ends and this just keeps it looks sleek and silky!

Tie Up Before You Nod Off

This is actually something I never used to do and in the past when I had extensions I always used to sleep with my hair loose and I always used to wake up to a wild mess and would be so painful to brush, and I should of know better since I actually work in a hair extension industry but I was young and didn’t listen and learnt the hard way because my colleges would always be telling me off when my bonds were all knotted together!

But this trick isn’t just for people that have hair extensions, if you have mid length to long hair this might come in use for you, So every night before bed before I start removing my make up and applying my lotions and potions I put my hair in pigtails, yep you read that right! just two pony tails on either side of my head and I guess you could just put your hair in a normal pony tail but I find it is a lot easier to handle in the morning when my hair has been split into two. And sometimes if I’m feeling like it before bed I will make two plats on either side either a typical plat or a fishtail plat ( the tighter the better!) and then in the morning when you take it out you have lovely beach worthy locks. Another added bonus you’re not using any heat to create this look! no straighteners no curlers so your also giving your hair a break from the heat! its like your cooking up a hairstyle for the following day while you sleep!  so you’re even saving time for the next morning before work/collage even more time for you to grab that coffee on the way there!

If you have quite naturally wavy/curly hair you might not need to do this but for someone like me with naturally straight hair I like to add some beach spray to my wavy locks just to give it that bit more oomph and a bit more texture so I just add a few sprays of the L’Oral Professionnel Tecni ART beach waves spray this is one of my ultimate favourite styling products it gives the easiest beach look even to minimal waves and just gives it such a great look and it also smells great so thats a bonus!

So there you have it! These are a few of my top tips to keep your hair in tip top sleek condition! A lot of the products I’ve included in this post are super affordable and you can get from most drug stores/ local salons.

If theres one thing I would love to go back and tell myself 2 years ago it would be don’t skimp on protecting your hair, its honestly so important and I’m saying this coming from a place of experience, even if you spend £20-£40 getting some new hair care products most of these should last you up to 3-5 months and thats honestly worth it.

Have you got any hair care products or routines you have to keep your hair looking fantastic? if so let me know in the comments below.

Catch you later lovely’s.

Bakerdays LetterBox Cake Review AND Giveaway!

Bakerdays LetterBox Cake Review AND Giveaway!

Just Before Christmas I had a lovely email from Emma over at Bakerdays, and they wanted me to try and review one of their cakes, obviously I was over the moon not only because hello its cake! but because they wanted to design a cake bespoke for my blog and I was so excited, I would of been happy with any kind of cake but having one made for my blog was such a lovely feeling. So before I get carried away let me tell you a bit about Bakerdays.

Bakerdays obviously specialise in cake they create anything from small celebration cakes two huge birthday cakes and even cupcakes. Their smallest cakes are the letter box cakes which is what there well known for and yes it actually does fit through a letterbox. It’s just the perfect gift to give or to send.

If you order a celebration cake with Bakerdays you will also be offered the chance to order some additional items too such as helium balloons and candles for your special cake.

The team at Bakerdays are super friendly and so lovely to speak to, if you wanted to ask them any questions before ordering your cake they will be more then helpful, it makes the cake that bit more special knowing that the people making your tasty treat are a lovely bunch of people.

Bakerdays also offer a wide range of flavours and special cakes for those with dietary requirements such as:

  • Traditional Sponge
  • Lovely Lemon Drizzle
  • Half Chocolate Half Sponge
  • Dairy Free Sponge
  • Gluten Wheat Free Sponge
  • Rich Chocolate Chip

When it came to choosing the flavour of my cake I didn’t even hesitate, I obviously went for Rich chocolate chip! Ive never been a fan of traditional sponge cake, and to be honest I’m not the biggest cake eater I rarely ever eat cake unless its a special occasion such as a birthday or a wedding I’m more of a savoury sort of person then a sweet but I was looking forward to receiving this cake and sharing it with a cup of tea with my mum.

So on the 4th of January I received my cake as promised straight through my letterbox it came beautifully packaged in a special cake tin that reads mmm cake, and a cute little card thats reads enjoy! when I first opened the tin my mouth must of dropped open because I knew they were going to create something based off my blog but I was still shocked it was so beautiful, its the cutest little cake perfect for 4 slices and It just had my blog logo at the top in the same font and writing as my logo and then they even printed a picture of me on to the cake, it was just the sweetest thing, I was just so touched they had gone out of their way to do that for me.

As I pulled the tab to lift the cake out of the tin I lifted it up gently and I was pleasantly surprised of how moist it was, even thought the top of the cake is all icing if I poked the cake I could feel how moist it must of been inside, sometimes I find that cakes with hard icing on top can sometimes be a bit dry inside, so I hadn’t even tasted the cake yet and I was already over the moon.

So of course like any blogger would before I dived head first into the cake I need to take pictures! so I took the cake out of all its wrapping and placed it down carefully and started snapping away while the smell of the cake tortured me drifting under my nose, but I tried to look at it as if I was going to be rewarding myself for doing a good job!

So after many many pictures later I was done! and I could finally tuck into my cake! it was already all cut and ready from the pictures I was taking so I didn’t waste anymore time and I got stuck straight in. And OMG it really is the moistest cake I’ve ever had even the icing on top is soft and if you are a chocolate lover then the rich chocolate chip cake is for you, it is so chocolatey it will kick any chocolate craving you had for a week, its absolutely delicious and like I said I’m not the biggest cake lover but this was something else!

What I think made it even better was that I had been in bed all week nursing away a terrible flu and for the first 5 days of my flu I couldn’t even eat so I hadn’t actually had anything sweet all week so this cake defiantly put my sugar levels back up!.

I would highly recommend Bakerdays for your next Birthday or Celebration cake they are a fantastic team with affordable cakes that not only look great but taste amazing! and they always deliver next day.

And because the team at Bakerdays are so great they are letting me host a giveaway so YOU can be in with the chance to win your very own letter box cake straight to your door!

Want to win?

All you have to do is head over to my Instagram or Twitter and follow the instructions to be in with a chance to win, Giveaway ends on Friday the 26th of January and is a UK only run competition. GOOD LUCK!

Until next time lovely’s..

Stepping Into 2018: Taking A Look Back At 2017

Stepping Into 2018: Taking A Look Back At 2017

2017.. what a ride its been and a quick one at that, I feel like last year just flew by and before I knew it I was planing Christmas and eating my weight in cheese all over again, but 2017 has been a year of growth for me in more reasons then one I feel like I’ve become a slightly better person, not that I was ever a bad person but I’ve come to realise so many things this year I’ve grown I’ve opened myself up and accepted myself for my flaws and insecurities and I’m content with who I am, and it may sound cliche but I put it down to stepping out of my comfort zone, I’ve done things in 2017 that I never thought I would be able to accomplish I grabbed the bull by the horn and done things I’ve wanted to do for so long and now I feel great about it, I put doing the things I wanted to do off for so long because I was frightened and I’m telling you now once you do these things that you have only been dreaming of you start to feel amazing about yourself, you feel more in control and better then that you feel proud of YOURSLEF and that is my biggest accomplishment of 2017, but heres a little recap of my best moments this year and moments I will never ever forget.

Stepping Into Blogging.

This is my number one accomplishment of 2017, for years I wanted to venture into blogging and creating online content and I always backed out, so many times I sat down and started creating ideas and brainstorming and I never went through with it, Why? because I thought I wouldn’t be good enough and I thought I would be taken for a joke, people would roll there eyes and feel sorry for me and a lot of people I knew would of thought it was for attention or I was trying to hard to be something I wasnt and I just could handle the embarrassment. And then one day I thought fuck it im doing something because its my passion and if my friends can’t come to terms that I’m actually doing it because I enjoy it and are saying these horrible things behind my back then they were never my friends in the first place and I don’t want them in my life, so I done it!! after countless hours sitting at my desk creating my blog and countless hours of brainstorming content I done it my blog went live, and I may of only had 5 people reading my blog for the first few months but I didn’t care, even if one person was reading my posts they were reading something I had created my thoughts typed out on to my computer someone else was reading it and I was beyond proud of myself.

As soon as I started blogging amazing things began to happen and it was almost like it was a sign that I was doing the right thing, not long after I started my blog I started going to events of course they were not events I was invited to they were paid events but I started to meet the most amazing like minded people and I was so greatful, I started going to these events and the energy in the room was incredible, I felt so overwhelmed I was actually speaking face to face with People who had the same passion and ambition as me and being able to hear about other peoples stories and swap ideas and passions with these people was one of the best feelings ever, I remember going to my first event and I was so nervous but I really had nothing to be nervous about they were all so lovely and kind, and I actually met one of my now good blogging pals Heather at this particular event so I’m so happy I went.

Portugal

I love Portugal its become on of my favourite country’s to visit, its so beautiful and the people are so friendly I normally get so nervous when going abroad its just how my anxiety likes to behave, but I never feel like that when I’m in Portugal, so me and my fiancé went back last year and the second time round was just as good as the first, there is just something about holidays that instantly realise stress and help you become a better thinker, I spent most of this holiday by the pool cooking up ideas for my blog and trying to take as many instagramable photos as possible, but the thing I love about holidays the most is spending time with my fiancé, we don’t live together yet so these weeks away really mean a lot, we have been together for such a long time now that we are desperate to live together its just trying to save to live in London isn’t the easiest thing to do, so spending a week lazing around, eating and drinking and just being together is so special and trips like this I will always carry close to my heart, I cant wait to see what trips 2018 is going to bring we have nothing planned as of yet but I know it won’t be long until we are sat planning the next one.

I Spent My 23rd Birthday In Rome!

When my fiancé surprised me with a trip to Rome for my birthday I was beyond excited, I couldn’t believe I was going to get to visit one of the most romanic places in the world with the person I love the most and also Rome is in Italy and Italian food is my favourite I could eat pasta all day every day so I was in my element. The whole trip was so perfect, the hotel was lovely we got a lovely spacious room with he biggest balcony I had ever seen that looked down onto a little strip of restaurants it was so nice to go out there in the morning and see loads of people sitting and eating breakfast and having conversations, every morning I would open the balcony doors and even at 8am it was 28 degrees! I think the only down side to this trip would have to be that it was incredibly hot, I mean don’t get me wrong I love the heat but with that kind of heat I would prefer to be by a pool or at the beach, but when your walking around a city and trying to sight see I was getting a very severe case of chub rub.. we were sweating constantly but on the up side we got to enjoy tons of Italian gelato and oh my god was It good even the thought of it now makes me salivate, and the funny thing is I hardly ever eat ice cream at home in London but in Italy its a whole different board game.

Wandering around the streets of Rome is breathtaking, if you let yourself get lost and just walk you come across some of the most beautiful things, we walked for hours and hours, and stoped of at some lovely little cafes and bars for drinks and sometime the odd snack, we felt we stoped more then we should of just purely because it was so hot and the outside air conditioning of these bars and cafes were a god send. Even though we were only in Rome for a few nights it was amazing every bit of every day was perfect, I think my favourite thing would have to be on my actually birthday it was our last full day there and me and my fiancé had been to a amazing restaurant and after we went for a walk and stoped and listened to some street performers and looked in a few of the shops that were still open, and then when nightfall come we went and got some gelato and sat on a wall and listened to an amazing opera singer in the middle of the square and watched the world go by and it was one of the most romantic evenings ever.

I Done The Race For Life!

Ive always wanted to do the race for life and I always backed out, I was never fit enough I always had this image I would be the one walking on my own right at the back, but this year I thought no I’m doing it, I was trying to make 2017 the year I started doing the things I kept putting off, so me and 2 other girls I work with signed up and the weeks leading up to the race I was going to the gym and training on the treadmill and I was determined to do it, we only signed up to do the 5k but it was still progress I was actually doing it.

On the day it was the most heart touching experience, seeing all the people coming together and reading what people had wrote on their bits of paper that was stuck to their tops, the people they were running for, people and loved ones they had lost to cancer, all coming together to help beat cancer, it was like nothing else I have ever experienced. half way through the race I started to slow down its true what they say running on a treadmill and running on solid ground are very different, the two girls I signed up with left me behind! ( they are both very fit and are used to running) but I quick walked then ran a little and kept changing it up. but you know what I done it! I done the race for life the thing that I had been putting off for years and even though I didn’t run the whole way it felt so good regardless!

I Worked With Some Great Brands

When I thew myself into the blogosphere I never thought I would ever be able to work with brands so soon I was so overwhelmed that it even happened at all, I never started blogging for “free stuff” thats not what its about if you get into blogging to get things for free and not doing it because you love I, it will show in your work. I blog because I love doing it I love writing about things I feel passionate about and I love meeting new people and I love photography so I threw that all together and created something I love, so when I was actually contacted by brands it was such an amazing feeling, I’ve been able to review some lovely products from perfumes and make up to socks and tights and I’m forever grateful i love trying out new products and then writing my view on them, and if I do love the product I will let everyone know, I’m a big believer in never promoting anything that you don’t like nor believe in and I never would, I would always tell the company that as well, I don’t like false advertising I don’t think its fair to tell your following that something is incredible and works miracles or smells amazing and it turns out to be the complete opposite people will loose faith in you and will no longer trust your opinion and to me that just isn’t worth lying about just for the sake of getting something for free. So thank you to all the amazing brands that reached out to me in 2017 it will never be forgotten and will always be appreciated.

I Got My First Professional Camera

Taking pictures is a big part of blogging I find myself taking pictures all the time even if they never end up on my blog or social accounts I get so much enjoyment out of it so going from taking pictures on my iPhone to getting an actual incredible professional camera was like a dream come true, I had wanted an Olympus camera for a long time, I was always so envious of other bloggers that already had one their pictures always looked incredible and I was determined to get one, so one month I decided that was it I’m not going to put it off anymore I’m just going to do it! so what if I blow half my wages in one month I have wanted this camera for ages and I’m going to get it and please bare in mind I know how irresponsible this is I don’t think I actually would of done this, I probably would of split it between two or three months and put some money aside for it, I would of saved for this camera but it seemed like something was always stopping me, life gets in the way and so do bills and other responsibilities and It always got pushed back, And then one day I got in the car with my boyfriend and we pulled up in front of a Curry PC world and confused I asked what we was doing there and he told me we was there to get my camera for my birthday….. well I almost screamed I was so overwhelmed with excitement it was indescribable, so we walked in and got my EPL-8 and I have been in love ever since.

A few months ago I decided to buy myself the 45mm lens, I loved the pictures it was able to create I love the portrait style pictures so I went back to the same Currys Pc world and I picked one up with a pretty good discount only because they only had one left and it was a old display model and didn’t have the lens cap but I didn’t care to much only because I knew it wouldn’t be that difficult to get a lens cap and I think I only paid £139 instead of nearly £200 so I was over the moon I had my lens and I saved over £50, my Olympus and lens are defiantly the best purchases of 2017.

I Took Some Amazing Photos

Of course this was down to my new camera, it was strange it was like as soon as I got it I felt like I was instantly taking better pictures, and I know its a amazing camera so of course it takes great photos, but I look back on pictures I was taking on my iPhone compared to the pictures I take now and the diffrence is incredible! I’m so so happy with the progress I’ve made this year with my photos, there still not what I would say incredible but its a learning curve and I’m enjoying the journey, some pictures will be better then others and other peoples pictures will be better then mine, but I’m so proud of myself for the accomplishments Ive made this year and my photography skills are defiantly one. Ive even started taking pictures of myself! which normally I would never ever do unless it was with a cute little dog snapchat filter stuck on it, but I started playing around with the hands free feature on my camera stuck it on my tripod and the rest is history! now I actually enjoy taking photos of myself and the plus side about doing it yourself on the hands free feature is that you feel more in control, I just link my phone to the cameras wifi and use the Olympus app and click the live feature and I can see whatever my camera is seeing through my phone and then I can see if I’m getting the right angle and the right lighting then just snap away. Im looking forward to taking a lot more photos this year, I’ve got a phototography course coming up soon so I cant wait to get stuck in and make 2018 the year to up my photography game!.

2018 Goals

Now that the new year really has arrived I’m looking forward to making this year even more incredible then last, I learnt so much last year and when you really get to take a second to sit and think about what you truly achieved its amazing feeling of accomplishment, This year I want to start saying Yes more I feel like a lot of the time I talk myself out of things and really let my anxiety get the best of me but this year I want to try and start taking control of my anxiety a bit more each year I feel like I’m taking a step in the right direction and I’m getting better and better the more that time goes by but I still let it stop me from doing certain things so this year I’m going to try and get myself to say yes, obviously within reason I’m not going to start jumping out of airplanes or anything like that! lets take it one step at a time.

I also want to start taking more time for my blog I feel like in the last few months I didn’t write as much as I wanted to, I work long hours and when I do get hone in completely slumped and I cant even watch Tv for 5 minutes without falling asleep never mind write for a few hours, but now I’m back to having 2 days off a week instead of just one I’m going to dedicate my Mondays off to blog posts and pictures I really want to take my blog to the next level over 2018 but I’m taking baby steps to get myself into a flow, I’m starting this year with a good mindset and my goals are in mind and I’m just excited to see what this year has in store!

Lastly I just want to be happy and have fun, I have some amazing plans this year with friends and family and I’m looking forward to enjoying ever moment of it, I also am strongly considering starting my youtube Chanel this year its something I have been putting off for about 3 years now and I think I’m finally ready, I have so many videos on my laptop that I’ve filmed edited and just never uploaded because I was just to nervous and frightened but starting 2018 I feel like I’m ready and I hope that I can share some of these amazing experiences of 2018 with you not only through my blog but through vlogs and video content to!

So I do believe this post has been far too long so I’m just going to finish up here, but I wish you all the most magical 2018 I hope this is the year where all you dreams come true and you are doing something this year thats going to make it unforgettable!

Happy new year lovely’s

Wonderland Cosmetics: A Review

Wonderland Cosmetics: A Review

I am a massive lover of all things beauty, makeup, skincare you name it I’m all over it so a couple of weeks ago I was thrilled when I was contacted by Wonderland make up and was lucky enough to be sent some of their products, I was so excited to try them out because I had heard such wonderful things about them through social media.

So one day after work I arrived home to my parcel with three Wonderland products inside, I received the studio finish primer, one eyeshadow and one nail polish, I was excited the most about the primer because I’m such a lover of primers and I love finding more then one that work well for my skin, and after seeing loads of people on Wonderlands Instagram with a more then flawless finish I couldn’t wait to try it out.

So after trying out the products for the last few weeks here is what I thought of Wonderland Makeup.

Studio Finish Primer.

Without a shadow of a doubt this was my favourite product out of the three, like I said before I love a good primer and this was certainly that, the consistency of the primer itself is very thick, but it glides so well over the face and I literally feel like its filling in every pore as it goes on and a little goes a long way with this primer I don’t feel like you need to much to get the best out of it. I find that it also drys quickly and my make up goes on so well on top of it I also found that it was a perfect fit for my skin because it is oil free theres nothing I hate more then oily primers I find that with my skin type by the end of the day my make up just becomes patchy and not that all attractive.

I would highly recomened this Primer to anyone who has oily skin or is looking for a primer to fill in all those pores and fine lines, like I said in my last blog post on how I’m loving the Urban Decay optical illusion primer and I still am but Wonderlands studio finish primer has become my day to day primer sometimes if I feel like I’m going to need that extra bit of support ill mix the both together which you can do with this primer and it mixes quite well.

And it could just be me but Im sure I see a difference in my skin especially in photos I just feel like it has just helped make my skin that bit clearer. So I would defiantly give Wonderland Make up’s Studio Finish Primer a 10/10!

Fried Earth Eyeshadow.

I am definitely a palette sort of girl I love my palettes and don’t tend to buy single eyeshadows, mostly because I find they just break or I misplace them, but I was happy to try out a new brand so I gave it a go, and although I don’t tend to go for browny sorts of colours I did quite like this one, I started using it when I was doing a smokey eye one evening and was pleasantly surprised with the result, the eyeshadow itself was quite pigmented and blended well around the corners of my eye, it was easy to apply to my brush so I felt that all over it was actually quite a good shadow, obviously I don’t wear a smokey eye every day so I’ve only used it a few times but over the time that I have used it I haven’t had any problems and always felt that my eyes looked really good. One other thing I found was that it was long lasting I put it on for a night out and it was still on and had not budged hours later and I didnt even put too much on, this is one thing I look for in a eyeshadow if it can get me through the day/night then its a winner in my book. I give this eyeshadow a 8/10 and Wonderland have over 30  eyeshadows so there is literally something for everyone and there are a few fantastic vibrant colours that look incredible, check them out Here

Snow Nail Polish.

Now I was thrilled when I opened my Wonderland package and saw I had a white nail polish inside purely because white nails is what I’ve been rocking lately it was like they knew! so because my nails were already white and starting to get chipped I took the old white colour straight off and applied my new wonderland Snow White nail polish and I was pleasantly surprised with the colour and I only applied two coats and I was already satisfied, normally I feel like you need to apply so many coats of white nail polish to get your desired pop of colour but I only put on two and I liked it, but I did apply one more because I wanted to see what it looked like with one more and it looked amazing, so much so that I applied it to my toes straight after and I was thrilled, and after a week and a bit the colour was still going strong, so not only was the colour lovely but it was also long lasting, which lets be honest is all you want in a nail polish, I’ve been looking at the Wonderland website and I’ve got my eye on a few other colours they have so I will be trying out some of their other colours soon! I would rate this polish a 9/10 I defiantly will be using this all up in the months to come check out some of their nail colours Here

So overall I am one happy bunny with my Wonderland goodies, they are a perfect addition to my Make up bag and I will be growing that addition, the products are not ridiculously over priced and are worth the money, I am just one of these people that don’t mind paying for products I know I’m going to use and love, I’ve paid a lot more for Primers and Eyeshadows that have promised the world and not delivered.

I will leave the link to Wonderlands website Here just in case you want to take a look of the whole range for yourself, I I’m itching to try there foundation next, and what makes it even better for me is know that these products are completely cruelty free and thats a big YES from me.

Let me know if you have ever tried any of Wonderlands products before and if not what would you like to try?

I will also leave a link to their Instagram Here so you can see all of the amazing pictures of satisfied people and Celebs on their feed.

Until next time..
